SEE Mathematics — core skills
Rebuild the arithmetic, algebra and geometry skills that SEE questions keep returning to.
About this study path
A six-session path through the maths that SEE papers lean on: fractions and percentages, algebraic manipulation, linear equations, mensuration, trigonometry basics and statistics. Each session ends with a short quiz so you can see which part still needs work.
What you will be able to do
- You can solve percentage and ratio problems without a calculator.
- You can set up and solve a linear equation from a word problem.
Work through the sessions
- Fractions, decimals and percentages — Convert between the three forms, then take a five-question check.
- Algebraic manipulation — Expand, factorise and simplify with the tutor walking the steps.
- Linear equations from word problems — Turn a sentence into an equation and solve it.
- Mensuration: area and volume — Work through the formulas that appear most often, with units checked.
- Trigonometry basics — Sine, cosine and tangent on right triangles, plus heights and distances.
- Statistics: mean, median, mode — Compute each measure and know when each one misleads.
